What is the best way to get there via cab? Get dropped off at W79th and then how do we find it? Don't want to get lost or over walk as someone in my group has some limitations.

We walked to the park from the Natural History Museum, but we took the Metro there. Not sure if that is too far of a walk for your travel companion. I do know that when we tried to Uber back, our Uber driver couldn't find us as some of the roads in the park aren't open to public traffic.
