Teonthar Maip

Teonthar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Rewa district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Teonthar was once ruled by the Kol dynasty kings. Teonthar lies on one of the oldest routes between north India and south India. Teonthar is also known for its Deor kothar stupas. These Buddhists stupas are credited to the Mauryan emperor, Ashoka.
