President Donald Trump said he has “great respect” for the man who is being called a hero after tackling one of the suspected shooters in the deadly Hanukkah attack on Bondi Beach in Australia on Sunday. The president made the comments during his remarks at the White House Christmas reception on Sunday.

As two gunmen killed at least 16 people and wounded at least 40 others on Sydney’s Bondi Beach, bystanders recorded footage of much of the attack on video.

During the attack, a 43-year-old local man, Ahmed al Ahmed, snuck up behind one of the gunmen and tackled him and wrestled away his gun.
