Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang offered a quantum-level climb-down on Thursday, after spooking quantum-computing companies earlier this year with his assessment that their efforts wouldn’t be “very useful” for 15 to 30 years.

Huang announced a new expanded partnership with General Motors as carmakers look to advance autonomous driving initiatives.

However, at a time when Nvidia is trading at a substantial discount to its all-time high on concerns about macroeconomic growth, questions about the impact from DeepSeek, and some doubts about the return on investment from AI spending, Huang gave a key forecast that should reassure investors in Nvidia and the rest of the AI sector.
