Humanitarians have been sounding the alarm over Sudan, where the conflict has forced about 12 million people from their homes. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed, with both the RSF and army and the RSF accused of committing atrocities.

Sudanese paramilitaries killed more than 200 people in a three-day assault south of Khartoum, a lawyers' network said on Tuesday, as the army-backed government put the death toll at more than twice that.

Sudan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the paramilitary group targeted civilians in the past few days in villages in the al-Gitaina area.
