Trichy: Tamil Nadu govt on Tuesday passed an order (GO) sanctioning 498.8 crore as compensation to more than 5.1 lakh farmers in 18 districts who sustained damages in the Fengal cyclone last year.

Puducherry, December 01 (ANI): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted extremely heavy rainfall in Puducherry on Sunday as Cyclone Fengal made landfall on the coast on Saturday evening.

“On a request from the Tamil Nadu government, the Union government declared cyclone Fengal a disaster of severe nature,” the release said.
