The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect accused of throwing fentanyl on deputies at the jail while he was being booked. Deputies said

A group of Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies were sent the hospital Thursday after they were exposed to fentanyl when a suspect tossed the white powdery substance onto them during an arrest, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

All six deputies have been transported to local medical facilities for evaluation and, if necessary, treatment for exposure to fentanyl.
