Philadelphia firefighters found a male's body in a basement on the 2200 block of South Street after responding to a fire Wednesday night, according to police.

Authorities were alerted at about 7 p.m. about a fire at an abandoned building along the 2200 block of South Street. 6ABC reports that structure was once home to a Thai restaurant that has been closed for several years.

Investigators say a body was found bound and in a shallow grave in the basement of a South Philadelphia closed-down Chinese take-out restaurant that caught fire on Thursday night.
