A suspect in the 2008 killing of a disabled man in Oceanside was arrested this week, police officials said. The body of Cecil Zachary Jr., 51, was discovered with “obvious signs of trauma” in the summer of 2008 at his home in the 1500 block of Molly Circle.

Authorities announced an arrest Thursday in connection with the slaying of a man in Oceanside nearly 16 years ago.

On Wednesday, Jeffrey Roberson, 59, was taken into custody in Spring Valley for the 2008 murder of Cecil Zachary Jr. According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune around the time of the murder, Zachary Jr. was a 51-year-old paraplegic who lost his mobility in a car crash.

An arrest has been made in connection with the slaying of a disabled veteran found dead in his Oceanside home nearly 17 years ago.
