As the New England Patriots aim to revitalize their offense under the new leadership of Mike Vrabel, they could look to set their sights on one of the Chicago Bears’ key players.

New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is beginning to build his coaching staff, and former Chicago Bears interim coach Thomas Brown is on his shortlist.

Perhaps this is why McCaskey believed the Bears were the most attractive franchise for any potential head coach. Chicago has won nine NFL championships, but only two since the conclusion of the 1946 season. Those came in 1963 and 1985.

Brown is the first known candidate to interview for the Patriots' offensive coordinator job under Vrabel. With Vrabel off the board, there are five NFL head coach vacancies, with the Bears, Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, and New Orleans Saints still searching. All attention for Chicago should turn to Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who has been the hottest and most discussed name for the job outside of Vrabel.
