Detroit — The feel-good story surrounding the Red Wings currently looks like it's going to stay around a bit longer. Dominik Shine, who made his NHL debut at age 31 in Monday's victory over Los Angeles, appears to be staying at least for the start of the Wings' upcoming four-game road trip Thursday in Edmonton.
Alex Lyon feels like he belongs, except he also still feels like he did a decade ago. He came blazing off the ice Saturday morning at Amalie Arena, laughing when Christian Fischer yelled out, 'here comes an angry man.
A huge key was the Wings' power play, which had so lethal in recent games (power play goals in 10 of their last 11 games). The Wings did score once, with Lucas Raymond scoring his 19th goal, but the Wings couldn't match the two or three power-play goals they had scored six of the last 11 games.
Lyon will miss a fifth straight game Saturday, though it appears he could return to action Sunday in Dallas, according to St. James. The 32-year-old Lyon has made 16 appearances for the Red Wings this year, going 8-5-1 with a .902 save percentage.
