Dallas has been known to be supportive of rookies, especially in recent years. Wyatt Johnston and Stankoven were welcomed into Joe Pavelski’s home over the last two seasons to ease their transition. Blumel is now living with former Stars forward Ales Hemsky and said staying with a fellow Czech has made him feel more comfortable.
Rookie forward Mavrik Bourque could also be part of the return. An ongoing issue for the Detroit Red Wings is the lack of skilled right-shot defensemen behind first-pairing blueliner Moritz Seider.
