During Samsung Unpacked 2025, we heard that the Galaxy S25 series phones have a "custom" (sort of) Qualcomm Snapdragon chip to power its features. That's pretty cool — we know Snapdragon chips perform well and we've seen what building an AI-tailored SoC allows in Google's Pixel phones.
JP Morgan analyst maintains Overweight rating on Qualcomm, as Samsung's flagship S25 uses Snapdragon chips, increasing Qualcomm's revenue and EPS.
The S25 Ultra and the 9 Pro XL are pretty much the same in terms of dimensions and weight, with minute differences. However, Samsung has managed to fit in a slightly bigger 6.9-inch display, whereas the 9 Pro XL comes with a 6.8-inch display. Both phones have an LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
All three models in the Galaxy S25 lineup, like the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series, support wireless charging. You can recharge your device by placing it on a wireless charging pad, regardless of which Galaxy S25 model you choose.
For now, only Verizon customers can use the Samsung Galaxy S25 series to ask for help in an emergency over a satellite connection.
The S25 Ultra is lighter at 218g compared to the 233g that the S24 Ultra weighs. In addition, the S25 Ultra has a more rounded, flat design when compared to the S24 Ultra. Samsung says that the S25 Ultra is 0.4 mm thinner than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

During Samsung's Galaxy S25 Unpacked Stream earlier this week, the new Galaxy S25 Series lineup was announced. They include the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. This new lineup arrives on Feb. 7, but preorders are up already.

The biggest overall changes to the design between the two Samsung Galaxy phones is likely the color options to choose from when making the upgrade. The Samsung S25 comes in Navy, Icyblue, Mint, Silver Shadow, Blueblack, Coralred, and Pinkgold. The Samsung S23 only has four color options to choose from.
