Laredo City Council approved renaming a fieldhouse at Freddie Benavides Sports Complex, despite resistance from one councilmember.

This ribbon cutting and new field comes after the old complex was hit by two tornadoes back-to-back almost three years ago.

New pickleball courts would add to a growing array of Midlands resource for lovers of the increasingly popular sport.
