Three former Seattle Seahawks players and coaches currently on the Washington Commanders lost in the NFC Championship on Sunday.

Despite the on-field results, Kubiak was a sought-after candidate for another option on the market. While New Orleans began starting interviews for its head coaching opening, Kubiak was linked to both the Cleveland Browns and Texans’ coordinator openings.

The Seattle Seahawks will name former New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak to the same role, NFL Network reported Sunday.

Seattle has plenty of obvious appeal for Kubiak. Working under a defensive-minded head coach like Macdonald will give Kubiak a freer rein over the offense. He’s accustomed to such an arrangement, as his first two OC jobs were under defensive coaches ( Mike Zimmer in Minnesota, Dennis Allen in New Orleans).

The Seattle Seahawks are bringing in a notable name as their new offensive coordinator. The Seahawks are hiring Klint Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator, the team confirmed Sunday. Kubiak spent last season in the same role with the New Orleans Saints.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Seahawks hired Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator on Sunday. Kubiak’s hiring ends a nearly three-week search for Seattle, which fired coordinator Ryan Grubb on Jan. 6 after the Seahawks finished 28th in the league in rushing under Grubb’s pass-happy attack.

Kubiak spent 2024 as the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator. After the Saints fired coach Dennis Allen in early November, Kubiak stayed on under interim coach Darren Rizzi, but was free to leave for another job as the Saints have yet to hire a head coach.
