Connecticut officials say money used to pay medical providers could not be accessed Tuesday. Trump officials said Medicaid would not be frozen.

State Medicaid programs across the country are reporting they’ve lost access to federal payment portals one day after President Trump announced a freeze on federal grants and aid.

The Connecticut Sun traded Thomas to the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou. It’s unclear what the Sun will get in return. Thomas was originally drafted by the New York Liberty in 2014 but was traded on draft day to Connecticut and will leave the team as one of its greatest players in franchise history.

The Phoenix Mercury are making a splash in the offseason by finalizing a trade to bring in five-time All-Star forward Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun, ESPN first reported on Tuesday. Thomas is regarded as one of the best defensive players in the league and has finished top-five in MVP voting each of the last three seasons.

The Sun gave Thomas the core designation earlier in January, meaning the only way for Thomas to be moved was via a sign-and-trade
