Ron Rivera expected to return to Cal in 'Gm-like role' for two-tme NFL Coach of the Year
Cal is expected to hire seasoned NFL coaching veteran Ron Rivera to general manager-like position, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones reports. Rivera is a former All-American linebacker for the Golden Bears with 13 seasons of NFL head coaching experience.
Rivera was the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year in 1983 at Cal, earning All-American honors in his senior year. He was then drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft.
