With Zack Martin's retirement and DeMarcus Lawrence deciding to continue his career with the Seattle Seahawks, a new era is officially underway with the Dallas Cowboys. These two players have been stalwarts ever since they joined the organization and neither will be easily replaced anytime soon for what they both accomplished on and off the field.

Zack Martin's retirement press conference included a funny moment with Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones regarding a mistake Jones nearly made 11 years earlier.

Martin chose to retire, his body unable to withstand the rigors of the sport any longer. Lawrence wants to continue his career, got a good deal from the Seahawks and was upset that the Cowboys didn’t do more to try to keep him. He was hurt and wanted to lash out at Jerry and Stephen Jones.

Zack Martin bid an emotional farewell to football before a packed house Wednesday. Jerry Jones promised him a spot in the Ring of Honor before Canton.

One of the greatest Cowboys of all time announced his retirement on Wednesday in a special ceremony in Frisco.
