I've seen quite a few different styles that evolve throughout the years, through web comics or through well known artists. The thing is that the anime artstyle is too simple imo and seeing almost everyone immediately drawings canrtoony anime is kinda overkill. The artstyle is good but every sigle anime/manga and imo way too much anime artwork. It's more about my feed being saturated

Realism since anime artstyle is their universe, just like someone ussing sfm to recreate movies then making sfm characters react to it, its not a funny clip about the heavy being "dead". Its a surrealist piece where anything has happened.

Still does not mean realism is better, just trying to say other art can have some roots in it. So, depending on the art form, foundations in realism may be needed to make better art. Still does not mean realism is better.

Copying an anime character is not what you should do; taking their features and applying them to references is what I often do. I end up with anatomically correct stylized realism. That being said idk what anime art is being referenced in the post, I’m new to this sub.
